Are you curious about Guatemala?

Join us on our Creative Voyage through the gorgeous landscape of Lake Atitlan. Let this soul-churning, eco-conscious tourism experience wash over you. Explore the charming villages encircling the largest lake in Guatemala as we embark on a transformative journey to  reignite and embrace the artist within. Delve into the realm of herbal Mayan medicines, participate in local art classes, savor the rich flavors of authentic Guatemalan cuisine and so much more.

The Creative Voyage has been designed to be the most ecologically and culturally supportive experience possible. As two Latinas hosting the retreat, Chantelle & Coco are passionate about ensuring that 90%-100% of the vendors are of Mayan or Guatemalan descent.

What's the Vibe?

Imagine starting our mornings with a fresh cup of cacao as we head into our daily group circle.  Following that, we advance to Vinyasa Yoga, directed by our in-house, private instructor. After yoga, we find ourselves at a beautifully decorated dining table with a bounty of healthy, traditional Guatemalan dishes.  We share conversations while indulging in locally sourced coffee and exotic fruits amongst new friends. Later, we step outside our week-long home in San Juan La Laguna, the “Painted Village,” to venture out onto our private boat. We glide across the scenic lake, admiring the volcanoes in the distance, to visit local artisan women teaching traditional Guatemalan weaving. We end our day with a visit to our Mayan Wisdom Keepers who share stories of all the ways in which locals are actively preserving the Mayan culture. This is just ONE example of what our days will be like -- full of unique opportunities, carefully crafted by two Latina artists/facilitators who are dedicated to exposing participants to the rich yet complicated history of Mayan Culture. Participants will engage in proactive and mindful conversations about the practices of Mayan artistry, craftsmanship and lifestyle. This retreat is intended to be therapeutic, artistically expansive, culturally compelling and thought provoking. There will be time to explore any of the 11 villages that surround the volcanic lake. If you’re feeling laid back during free time, hang back and enjoy the hot tub or temazcal sauna!
